Hi, I'm Luis Metzger.
I'm a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with 12+ years building applications that scale. Based in Denver, Colorado.
I built NestDuck because every finance app I tried was designed for one person — not families. My wife and I needed something we could actually use together.
Every finance app I tried was built for one person.
Mint, YNAB, Copilot, Monarch — I've tried them all. They're great if you're single. But my wife and I? We were constantly out of sync.
She'd update the budget. I wouldn't see it. We'd both pay the same bill. We'd argue about spending we didn't even know about.
So I built what I couldn't find.
An app where both partners see everything in real-time. Where budgets work like Google Docs — collaborative, not competitive.
Where an AI assistant named Ducky can answer "Did we pay the electric bill?" at 11pm when the bank is closed.
And yes — I named it after rubber duck debugging. Because sometimes you just need someone to talk through your problems with.
